AustLit has launched a new-look service that makes it easier for users to search and navigate its vast storehouse of information.
Features of the new AustLit include:
- a cleaner, sleeker design, with improved presentation of complex data and information
- an improved search function that returns data ranked by relevance
- easier data entry, record creation and web-page authoring
- improved sorting of search results
- greater prominence for AustLit’s many research projects, teaching resources and information trails
Over the coming months, further tools and services will be added, including:
- improved data manipulation and visualisation functions
- better full-text searching, analysis and display
- federated searching across a range of external data sources
- mobile platform functionalities
- a membership platform to facilitate user participation, content production, and the saving of searches, datasets and projects
- integration into the HuNI laboratory
The new design seeks to echo the interplay between tradition and innovation in the study of Australian literary cultures.
